Finding your motivation and Road to Success

What is the motivation that drives you? Do you feel the lack of motivation to carry on sometimes?

We love to play and relax, but working may not be the most exciting thing for most people. Work can be more fun and motivating if you turn your job into a “game”.

Similarly, for young children when they are playing, they focus on the game and not distracted by their surrounding. I believe that goes the same for us!

Follow these tips to get yourself motivated for the second half of 2019! 😊

#1: Your Work, Your Game

So, what are the rules and tasks in your “game” as a financial advisor?

Therefore, by organizing key business activities, you will focus on your goals, instead of fixating on past results or future stressors.

 #2: Having a business purpose

What is your business purpose? Who would you like to help?

Having the purpose of helping others allows you to feel satisfaction in your job. You end the day by realizing that you are doing your best to serve and help your clients. This business is also great as you get to maintain long-term relationships with your clients.

#3: Daily Targets

What are your small goals of the day?

Your small goals of the day could be: setting up at least two appointments or closing a case.

It will be even better if you write your daily goals down in detail. According to Forbes, writing your goals down vividly can lead to greater goal success, and those able to vividly describe their goals are 1.2 to 1.4 times more likely to accomplish them.

#4: Don’t Procrastinate

Sigh, being in this business can be tough; sometimes it is such an emotional pain to just get out of the bed.

“Stock market”
“More appointments”
“Hitting sales targets”

Sometimes, we cannot help it and end up procrastinating. Scrolling through social media page, re-reading emails and “preparation” for appointments that could have been spent on more effective tasks.

Yes, we deserve some rest, just not excessively!

Procrastination can lead to a fall in productivity and result in us not achieving our goals. As a result, this leads to more serious consequences such as being demotivated and discouraged by our work; In extreme scenarios, it can even result in depression.

#5: Taking Breaks

Calling and finding new prospects can be mentally draining. Throughout our workday, we should rest for 15 minutes for every hour we work.

If you lack that rest, prospects can tell through your voice that working burned you out. Also, they would not be interested in working with an advisor who lacks passion. You deserve the break before the hustle begins again.

So, go grab your coffee and take a 15-minute break!

#6: Be engaged in the present

The three foundations to a healthy and successful mindset: Learn from past mistakes, live in the present and plan for the future.

One very common reason why people feel unhappy is that they keep dwelling and blaming themselves for their past.

“Why did I not work harder?”

“Why did I make that mistake?”

“Why wasn’t I making use of my time?”

It will not change the fact even if you keep torturing yourself with the past. It will make you feel worse and even committing the same mistakes again.

Why not do something right now and change the future? Start planning and penning down your small goals and future vision, you can do it too!
