Why do you fail to ask for referrals?

The Problem with Reluctance

If you want to be successful, you have to be willing to do something out of your comfort zone. This requires you to do things that you are not used to. In this case, asking for referrals, especially if you have been rejected numerous times.

It is no easy task to overcome reluctance, as it is always hard to do something you are uncomfortable with. There is no overnight solution for this. But the first step you have to take is to believe in yourself and in your profession. You must have faith in your company, your product and service — and yourself. Even though you have dropped the ball before, you have to be brave and take your chances!

Failing to Ask = Asking to Fail

When financial advisors first joined this industry, they are still burning with passion and idealism. But the constant rejections totally killed off their confidence to ask for referrals. This leads to them failing to ask, resulting in a vicious cycle of “Failing to Ask” and “Asking to Fail”.
